Army’s 91IB, PNP seize CTG’s food cache in Nueva Ecija

Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija – Acting on the information revealed by former rebels, troops of the 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion, Philippine Army together with 1PMFC of Nueva Ecija Police provincial Office (NEPPO) discovered a communist terrorist group’s food cache in the vicinity of Barangay Labi, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija on the day of the NPA's 52nd Anniversary, March 29, 2021.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Reandrew P. Rubio, the commanding officer of the 91IB, their initial investigation disclosed that the recovered food cache was owned by the remnants of weakened Komiteng Larangang Guerilla Sierra Madre (KLG-SM). The cache had seven containers each containing 50 kilos of rice.
“The timely information provided by the local residents and the revelation of FRs led to the successful recovery of the communist terrorist group's (CTG's) food cache. The enemy is now on the run because they know that they’re outnumbered and are receiving no more support from the people,” said LTC Rubio.
The surrender and capture of some CTG members, the discovery of abandoned lair and food cache, insufficient supplies, and lack of support system from the residents were the results of the intensive combat operations of the 91IB in its Area of Operations.
“Those weakened KLG- Sierra Madre members who remain entangled in their twisted violent ideology and terroristic ways must surrender now as the 91IB will always be relentless in its operations and we will hunt them down until the last communist terrorist element is prevented from waging violence and intimidation to our peace-loving communities in the provinces of Aurora and Nueva Ecija,” he added.
Meanwhile, the commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army, Major General Alfredo V. Rosario Jr., cited the strong commitment of the FRs and residents to support the government’s efforts to eradicate the influence and presence of the CTG in the province of Aurora.
“Mahalaga ang inyong suporta sa kasundaluhan dahil sa pamamagitan nito napagtutulungan nating wakasan ang karahasan at panlilinlang ng teroristang grupo sa inyong lugar. Bukas kami lagi para sa impormasyong inyong ibabahagi na makakatulong sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan at kaayusan sa inyong lugar,” said Maj. Gen. Rosario Jr.
