48IB participates in LGU initiated youth activity

    Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija - The 48th Infantry (GUARDIANS) Battalion participated in the opening of a week-long youth activity spearheaded by the municipality of Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT), dubbed as “Kabataan DRTeños Diretso Asenso sa Paglilingkod” at the Covered Court of Barangay Pulong, Sampaloc, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan on August 5, 2019.

    The activity will run from August 5-9, 2019. It is in line with Republic Act 10742, an act establishing reforms in the Sangguniang Kabataan, creating enabling mechanisms for meaningful youth participation in nation building, and for other purposes.

    Thirty students will benefit from the series of lectures and awareness programs prepared by the 48IB, the Municipal Police Station of DRT, the Municipal Health Office (MHO), the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, the religious sector, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)-DRT and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO).

    Environmental Awareness, Leadership Development (True Character of a God-Made Leader), Disaster Preparedness and Insurgency Awareness are among the topics to be discussed during the week-long activity.

    Major General Lenard T. Agustin AFP, Commander, 7ID said, “It is necessary to immerse young leaders and students on leadership trainings, to help them hone their leadership skills, for them to realize and understand their vital roles in nation building. 7ID will always support this kind of activity, for as we know, if we invest in our youth, we are investing for the future.”
